This week on BTL, join us for a walk down memory lane as we recount every single horrifying thing that happened in the last week.  Yup, week.  Trump has only been the president for a week.  We're already mid-constitutional crisis, we've already pissed off most of the world, and Trump's staff keeps tweeting us their passwords so things are leakier over there than a paper pipe.  On the bright side, if you enjoy protesting, you'll have lots of opportunities coming up.  Also, if you enjoy engaging in Wikipedia mischief, this next year is probably going to be your holy grail.

This week on BTL, it's our last podcast before the big day!  Californians will finally (FINALLY) get to weigh in on this year's presidential picks and we can't wait!  Brent, in fact, couldn't wait so much that he drove over an hour on Sunday morning to vote early, meeting up with with unknowing friend-of-the-podcast Marcia Gay Harden in the process.  No word yet on who she voted for, but Brent made some bold decisions and in honor of his sacrifice we've got a good rundown of your California Senate primary choices...all 34 of them. There's plenty more too, including Hillary Clinton's foreign policy speech, Trump's banner week of racism (even for him!), Paul Ryan's panic endorsing, and so much more!

This week on BLT...it's chaos at the Nevada Democratic Convention!  Sit-ins, security, fleeing...all the best kinds of excitement!  Plus, we've got election results from West Virginia and Nebraska, a week of Donald Trump trying to figure out how to be a frontrunner (answer: insist that you're very smart but don't confirm anything else), and SCOTUS updates from the a newly 4-4 court!  Apparently their new strategy is to stop making rulings until we can break the stalemate.  All that plus the intersection of politics and gossip like you've never experienced it before!  Welcome to Rep. This week on BTL, a hapless plan meets it's natural end as Ted Cruz and John Kasich realize they don't actually have a desire to work together.  Plus, we're all choosing our VP picks this week, so gather round!  Ted Cruz inexplicably chose Carly Fiorina, Lila choose Brent, and we're just getting started!  All this plus Obama's mic drop, Donald Trump's rambling foreign policy suggestions (win at stuff, make them pay, etc) delivered to a room full of his closest celebrity journalists, and the razzle-dazzle of Prince's end times prophecy!

Why We SHOULD Memorialize Hugo Chavez (We’re Talking To You, Thinkprogress)

In memorializing Chavez we are not memorializing any of his specific domestic policies, his friendship with Ahmadinejad, or any of the many short-sighted things a man operating a cult-of-personality-based government is bound to say and do.  What we are memorializing is resistance, specifically resistance to the long-term US economic imperialism that has dominated the region. Also we’re memorializing the fact that he had a weekly TV show called “Hello, President” in which he sings.  We here at BTL can’t stress enough that more world leaders need to be doing this.
