BTL #252 - Lesson Unlearned - 7/11/17

BTL #252 - Lesson Unlearned - 7/11/17

This week on BTL, we ONCE AGAIN try our hand at reporting late-breaking and oh-so-exciting news! #TrumpRussia is getting really delicious...and by that we mean scary.  Also we've got dispatches from America's president's trip to the G20 and our president's trip to the G20, as well as some thoughts on Mark Penn's failing-ness and the permanent tragedy that is Chris Christie.  Oh, and healthcare updates.  Duh!

BTL #250 - Sestercentennial - 6/26/17

BTL #250 - Sestercentennial - 6/26/17

This week on BTL, Wealthcare is still anybody is talking about, and we're here to give you a running list of who, to date, is for it, against it, undecided, and especially evil. Plus, some thoughts on the GOP and guns, the Democrats and women, single-payer's worst enemies, and our "new" policies on Cuba. And finally, Jesus Christ, will we ever get a guilty verdict in the police the shooting of an innocent black man (or woman... or child...)?!

BTL #243 - Press-Palooza [w/ Dmitry Zotman] - 5/8/17

BTL #243 - Press-Palooza [w/ Dmitry Zotman] - 5/8/17

Dmitry Zotman sits in for Brent as we discuss the AHCA (aka Achoo) passage in the house, the RELIEF of a boring moderate winning the French presidential elections (how far we've fallen), the chaos in Venezuela, Trump’s Monday press storm, and more!  And a speedy recovery to Brent, whose trip to Mexico left him with a terrible death-illness that Donald Trump's continued existence is NOT helping go away.

BTL #241 - Chocolate Cake and Chemistry - 4/17/17

BTL #241 - Chocolate Cake and Chemistry - 4/17/17

This week on BTL, our days may be numbered thanks to tensions with North Korea, but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate the arrival of a brand new giraffe into the world! Plus we've got more on the White House's chaotic behind-closed-door know-nothingness and an update on the week in Trumpian Holocaust denial. Then, it's a look at the local races shaping the Dem message for 2018 (or so we hope) and a reminder that being paid to protest is a career we'd definitely take up if only anybody on earth was offering.

BTL #240 - Passover Purge - 4/11/17

BTL #240 - Passover Purge - 4/11/17

This week on BTL, we get philosophical. Democracy as we knew it never really existed, wars rationale is in the eye of the beholder, and Michele Bachmann knows it all (according to her God). Plus, the Trump royal dramas begin (this is going to make a great TV show later), the House Intelligence Committee basically ends, and Alabama sends their sitting Governor, the "luv guv," to jail. Come for the news, stay for the sandal!

BTL #239 - New-Ness [w/ Special Guest Helen Hong] - 4/3/17

BTL #239 - New-Ness [w/ Special Guest Helen Hong] - 4/3/17

This week on BTL, the hilarious comedian/actor/fellow Bernie-phile Helen Hong joins us in the studio to talk Bernie, Hillary, Nunes (w/ new pronunciation!), treason, Trump, HB2 and so much more! Plus our heads simply cannot grasp the greatness that is Maxine Waters in a fight, the silliness that is Sean Spicer in a tan, and the awesomeness that is Justin Trudeau's history with Matthew Perry (pt 2!).

BTL #237 - A World Without Business (Cards) - 3/20/17

BTL #237 - A World Without Business (Cards) - 3/20/17

This week on BTL, Lila's father joins us for a look under the hood of Trump's new "America First" budget proposal, which seems to put a lot of America-America, most notably the elderly and poor, starkly last. But don't worry, rich people will make out well! And really, who else counts? Then, it was a week notable for it's many diplomacy stumbles but luckily Rex Tillerson doesn't seem that concerned about it. He's sleeping fine! And even Fox News finds that most things, but most notably Bernie Sanders, Planned Parenthood, and Obamacare, are far more popular than the president. It's all that plus some theories on North Korean politics so make sure to tune in!

BTL #235 - Oh, THOSE Russians! - 3/6/17

BTL #235 - Oh, THOSE Russians! - 3/6/17

This week on BTL, friend-of-the-podcast Carla Nordstrom joins us in the studio to talk through the week in Trump and tell us about her project at seedsofdemocracy.org!  We analyze Trump's joint session speech and brief window of glory, Jeff Sessions' ensuing scandal less then 12 hours later, Saturday's wire-tapping Twitter tour de force, and lots more.  We've also got updates on how Democrats are faring in local elections, how voting in general is faring in America, and how Oprah Winfrey is faring now that rich celebrities can be the president.  Another week of pure political insanity - don't miss a moment of it!  It'll (hopefully) never happen again!
