BTL #184 - #HillaryPillory, The Movement - 1/18/16

Join us this week on BTL as we discuss where our medium tolerance of the idea of maybe voting for Hillary Clinton in the general met it's natural end. Misrepresenting corporate ties was one (bad) thing, but misrepresenting single-payer healthcare and Bernie Sander's (superior) health platform is where we draw the line. We're legit not having her in any way shape or form! Come for the rage, stay for our rundowns of the rest of this action-packed week: Tuesday's State of the Union, Thursday's GOP Debate, Sunday's Dem Debate, and the latest on Iran followed by our coverage of the infuriating/criminal Flint, MI water situation.  The episode is long but worth it!

BTL #183 - Guns Per Tear Shed - 1/11/16

This week on BTL...it's a polling bonanza!  The first polls major numbers 2016 are filled with exciting plot twists!  With Iowa and New Hampshire are mere weeks away, the pressure is mounting on establishment campaigns on both sides of the aisle and we can't help but love the fallout!  Plus, Donald Trump releases his first video ad; maybe in the course of “figuring out what going on” he can learn to write better copy.  And Ted Cruz birtherism is finally taking center stage in a fascinating GOP battle royale that promises to get better (read: more exciting) before it gets worse (read: solved). Also, Obama makes common sense gun control reforms that are now more necessary than ever since Americans basically purchased out all the guns that are currently for sale last month in an effort to stop shootings (what?).  And guys, Dr. Zizmor retired so childhood is basically over and we've gotta start figuring our shit out.  Blargh.  Check us out right here or on iTunes/Stitcher!

BTL # 182 - Lady of Leisure - 1/4/16

This week on BTL...we begin 2016 with a look towards the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries, which are just weeks away!  Ted Cruz is in the lead in Iowa and Trump got a lock on NH, but the real race is for second, third, and fourth place (a.k.a. first place in the much more desperate establishment sub-primary.)  All that, plus an exciting look at some other races to watch, the return of the Cliven Bundy's clan, some hopeful news regarding gun control (did we ever think we'd say that?) and so much more!

BTL #181 - Talk Of Retirement - 12/20/15

This week on a special bi-coastal BTL, we're joining the chorus of people who think it's time for Debbie Wasserman Schultz to give up the ghost and leave the DNC in less compromised/incompetant hands.  Though even her Saturday debate scheduling couldn't stop us from sort of semi-watching the Dem Debate, most of what we took away involved Martin O'Malley being super irrelevant and a little sad.  One debate we didn't snore through, however, was last week's GOP debate because GUYS it was 25% fresh shenanigans (though, sadly, also 75% warmongering)!  Tune in for our rundown of both debates and more before we disappear for two full weeks into the Christmas ether!

"Experience" and "Good Ideas" are not the same thing

It’s time for us to have a chat with America about the value of Hillary’s foreign policy “experience," because “experience” and “good ideas” are not interchangeable.

BTL # 180 - Hungry Hungry Hippos - 12/14/15

BTL # 180 - Hungry Hungry Hippos - 12/14/15

This week on BTL...195 Countries are willing to take a chance on believing in climate change, which is a far better percentage than in our own Congress.  Womp womp.  And Ted Cruz is surging in Iowa while continuing to be in an irrelevant kind second place nationally.  Life/New Hampshire can work in mysterious ways.  Plus, Trump once again won the internet by losing at reasonable thought, but all this might be adding up to the most deliciously contentious GOP convention in recent history.  We literally CANNOT WAIT.  BRING ON THE DELEGATE THEFT!  Unfortunately, regardless of what happens next the rent will remain too damn high because Jimmy McMillan is sick of wasting his time trying to solve this for us ungrateful fools who never elected him.  Goodbye to all that needed discussion about rent and unneeded discussion about McMillan's his facial hair.  We'll miss you both!  All this and tons more!  What a week!

BTL # 178 - One Exorcism Is A-Okay - 11/23/15

BTL # 178 - One Exorcism Is A-Okay - 11/23/15

This week on BTL, Louisiana voters finally draw a firm line at...TWO prostitution scandals.  Still okay: 1 prostitution scandal, 1 exorcism, association with the KKK.  Plus, the GOP primary is heating up with the entrance of an exciting new candidate that's already nabbed a spot in the top 5.  Welcome "Wouldn't Vote" to the presidential race!  Excited to hear you at the next debate.  Plus, Julia Brownley, world’s most desperate/worst Democrat, won’t help world’s most desperate refugees because SHE'S AWFUL.  And everybody said the absolute wrong thing about refugees this week so it should come as no surprise that RICK ROLLING IS BACK.  Shit's just heading in that direction.  This time, however, Astley is "never gonna give up" on fighting terrorism.  All this and TONS more because, guys, it was that kind of week.

BTL #177 - Friday the 13th - 11/17/15

BTL #177 - Friday the 13th - 11/17/15

Well let's not beat around the bush - this week was a mess.  Thanks to those terrible attacks on Western Europe/the joy of Lila's birthday, most of us realized that terrorism-related death and destruction is happening everywhere.  The world is a dangerous place and we're just living in it/hoping not to have cynical politicians team up with the terrorists to make us 100% scared at all times.  BUT, we also had two debates, one for each party, and we've got plenty of thoughts on where the biggest schism in the GOP really lies, where the most interesting schism in the Democratic party lies, and how parroting Rudy Guiliani is never the right choice.  Then on to some interesting protests heating up at universities nationwide and why SCOTUS hates our sanity so much.  And tons more!  Really.  The extra day gave us too many thoughts!
